DEMOLITION OF ,"OLA OF LAGOS" CAR SHOW ROOM

Nigeria celebrity and social media influencer Olayinka Akinwande popularly know as Ola of lagos OOL On Saturday being 11th of October 2025 ,had his multi million naira car show room demolished by the Lagos State Government . The structure, which is his OOL Autos business located in Lekki, was pulled down due to ongoing law enforcement against illegal buildings in lagos state.The primary reason is that the showroom was constructed directly under a 33kV high-tension electricity line's, violating safety regulations enforced by the (LASBCA)Lagos State Building Control Agency and (LASPPPA)Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority. Building under high-tension lines has significant risks,which includes electrocution, fire hazards, and structural instability. No permits allow construction in such zones to protect public safety and maintain urban planning standards.This action aligns with broader Lagos State initiatives to demolish structures on rights-of-way, drainage alignments, or hazardous areas to avoid flooding, ensure environmental sustainability, and safeguard lives and property. The government has conducted similar demolitions recently, such as 17 houses along the Ikota River in Lekki, emphasizing compliance with urban development laws.As of October 12, 2025, the Lagos State Government has not released an official statement specifically on this incident, but social media speculation and reports consistently point to the power line violation.Ola's ResponseOla of Lagos addressed the incident on social media, expressing gratitude for support while maintaining an optimistic tone. He confirmed the demolition but assured fans that his business remains operational and announced plans for a new, larger showroom called "OOL Autos," promising it would be "bigger and better."
